Wednesdays with Friends!

One of my very good friends, Stephanie, came to visit me!!! She lives in Nashville and I don't get to see her too often (although I did see her last month for a Baking Girls Day) but when I do we always have a great time together! She came Tuesday night, we went to TJ Maxx and had some Fro Yo, then headed to my Mommas house for dinner and then watched

This movie... HA! I had seen it a while ago but not since I was preggers... totally changes everything! HA, its too cute!

The next day we headed downtown to the Art District, went to a Bakery and bought some yummy fresh bread, had lunch at Tony's (Italian... YUM!) with my Mom

And went to Rembrandts for coffee! Whip cream? Yes please!

We then went to Merchants on Main and I got a side table for the nursery to go by my chair for $43! Score... and it is perfect and I don't have to paint it or anything! I love the shelf and the "pie crust" top.

Then we headed to the outlets in Calhoun and got some goodies. What a fun filled day! I was worn out by the end of it! HA!

On another note, we decided on baby names! It was tough, we just could not agree. Here is the kicker (and this is NOT my idea) I am not allowed to share them. The Mr. wants to keep the names a secret until the babies are born. So I am being a good wife and keeping the names a secret (even though that is going to be SO hard).

However, I was able to place my order for the nursery art work.

I got 2 canvases (this is the inspiration I sent her) with their sweet little names

and then I found this (and the bunny print from the previous post) and sent it to her to make me 2 square "animal" canvases. I am so excited and cant wait to see what she comes up with!

This is the link to her shop on Etsy. She has some really CUTE stuff... personalized invitations, stationary and hand painted canvases!

This baby stuff is starting to feel more and more real! and I am already OVER HALF WAY there!

Let the Baby Buying Begin!

Unfortunately, I have to take the long 3 hour sugar test a week from today since I (barely) failed the 1 hour test this past week. She did say that they pretty much expect that with twins and that I should be fine on the long test. So say a prayer!

On a happier note, I started my Baby Registry yesterday... talk about overwhelming. I was on the Ipad in bed for hours looking at stuff last night! Yesterday was also the first day for baby purchases!

Kirklands had some cute lamps I spotted and a $25 off coupon so I went by yesterday (in the horrible, freezing rain/snow/sleet) on my lunch break to pick them up.

I got this sweet little birdy lamp for the nursery

And this glass lamp for the Dining Room so I can use that one for the nursery. (BTW this lamp is HUGE and I kinda love it!)

I heard about a warehouse here in Chattanooga that gets Amazon returns called Southern Thread, unfortunately, I had to work but my MIL and SIL  went for me and sent me pictures of things. Here is what they picked up for me.

A Pack-and-Play ($45 plus $23 for the mattress)

My Little Snugabunny Cradle n Swing

And the Snugabunny Craddle and Swing for $86, a great deal. Isn't is cute? We decided, as of now, to just get one swing and see how that goes. I will probably register for the matching bouncy seat.

I have also been looking for artwork for the nursery and stumbled upon this.

How perfect is it?
Well, not for $110.
I am gonna have someone paint it for me that I found on Etsy and maybe do another to match (maybe with polka dots) and lamb. Plus she is also going to make a canvas to go above each of their beds with their names on them (still undermined) YIPPEE! Progress... and I should get fabric samples soon for the bedding.

And I started looking for coming home outfits for the babies...

Nursey Plans

I have been dreaming of a nursery for a long time, planning out every little detail. But now, it is for REAL and I need to get a move on.

I have pretty much decided on 2 of these white Jenny Lind cribs, I love the classic look and they are very reasonably priced.

I am in search of a dresser (with drawer storage) for the changing table.... something like this.

And I just want a simple tan comfy chair and ottoman with a white side table and a simple burlap shaded lamp (which I have in my dining room from Kirklands)

Somehow, my family stumbled upon this wonderful seamstress who can basically sew anything for a very reasonable price, so I am going to have her make the crib skirt, bumpers and drapes.

I am thinking very simple burlap panels.
And for the bedding...

A Buffalo check
polka dot

and a toile (the only fabric I have found, I actually purchased it a LONG time ago!)
So, the nursery will be very neutral- all tans, creams and white... just what I was envisioning... now if I can just find the fabric!

I found this picture frame in Hobby Lobby and thought I could just paint the pink part tan. Its perfect, and only $12!

I also have one of these simple baskets for storage.

Then, I also want to do some sort of neutral art work and maybe a monogram above the cribs. And I thought about using some kind of simple white animals throughout the nursery on shelves and such....

cute little bunnies from Pier 1 (they are not in the stores yet, but will be soon with all the spring stuff)

white bird.

I thought these little owl bookends were so cute!

That's pretty much what I am thinking. We will see how it all comes together, more fabric shopping is happening Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.. wish me luck!

Surpise Birthday Trip!

Tuesday I went to work for a few hours and then headed to my Baby Doc. Apt. We got to see the little nuggets moving around and everything looked great! 18 weeks!

Then we headed out for my surprise over night Birthday trip. At first I thought we were going to Nashville, but when we got on the interstate headed towards Knoxville, I knew we were most likely going to Gatlinburg. And I was correct!
Our first stop was Bass Pro Shop, which is always fun to go into. HA... to me, it is like a theme park! There is all kinds of stuff to look at and do. For some reason, I love looking at the waterfall and the fish.  You can literally buy anything here, including camo baby bedding available in pink as well as regular camo. HA!

We settled into our place in Gatlinburg and then headed off to dinner. I have never seen Gatlinburg so empty! I guess because it is after Christmas break and there is no snow or anything.

We went to The Peddler, a Steakhouse, HA... not my favorite right now since I have a HUGE food aversion to meat at the moment... HA, so I just stuck to a baked potato and the salad bar.

3 years ago we came to Gatlinburg before Christmas and it was PACKED and it snowed quite a bit....It was beautiful!
I wish it had snowed this time!

Then, the next morning (yesterday) we had breakfast at The Pancake Pantry. It was my first time being there and it was pretty good. I love the little shops and stuff in "The Village" in Gatlinburg. It's like being in Germany, isn't the building neat?

Then we got in the car and headed down to Pigeon Forge to go the the outlets. I didn't have much I was looking for since I just ordered a lot of maternity clothes the other day from Old Navy. So we went and looked at a few store and some baby store but all I came out with was jewelry!

Cute right? I got both pairs at Old Navy! I didn't even know they had accessories and they were only $5.99 each!

We left and headed to Turkey Creek in Knoxville and went to a few more stores and ate at one of my favorite places, Newks (which I wish we had in Chattanooga). By this time, it was raining and I was so sleepy from not sleeping well the night before and we headed home and rented the new Borne movie and were lazy the rest of the night.

It was a great trip, a fun surprise!

A Weekend of Firsts

I feel so behind on my blog... I do apologize. This past weekend included a lot of "1st's" that I had to share with ya'll.

For the first time, the babies decided they wanted some meat. Not any kind of meat, a hamburger...from 5 Guys... no where else! HA! It was delicious if I must say so myself, they have my favorite hamburgers!

I also made my first trip to Motherhood Maternity and tried on some maternity clothes... yeah, that was fun... not really... HA!

The belly is starting to poke out... luckily I havent had to wear maternity clothes yet, but I know I will be soon!

Then, I also for the first time, went baby stuff shopping... check out this twin stroller... crazy right?  I got to try out chairs and such too, those puppies are expensive but comfy!!

And on a completely different note....

Bachelor Rejection Hotline
Tonight starts the new season of the Bachelor! I am actually embarrassed by how much I like this show, it is my guilty pleasure for sure!

My Birthday is Sunday, so I am enjoying my last week of being 26! The Mr. is even bringing me on a surprise Birthday trip
