A few of my new favorite finds

So. My newest obsession is all things galvanized. I can't control myself. I actually have purchased more since taking this picture!! The lanterns are from Ross clearance $8 each. Can't pass that up! And the others are all Target online (also a new obsession) tray $14. Caddy $19 2 tier caddy $30. Dangerous I tell you!
I have always wanted an old coke crate and got one on Friday for $17! Not too bad right!? (Bottles not included)
Today I went to the thrift store, I love treasure hunting! And I got this lovely mismatched set for $4! I couldn't resist. Aren't they so Anthropologie!? There are 5 tea cups, 2 saucers and 3 bowls. Wouldn't the plates be cute on the wall!? Yes please!

Baby Shower

My very best friend from high school that now lives out of town is having her first baby! And it's a girl!! Yippee! I threw her a shower a few weeks ago and wanted to share some pictures. It turned out really cute!

Red belle cake and homemade cream cheese icing!

Veggies and dip, chocolate covered strawberries, cheese and cake. And of course paper straws sweet tea, pink lemonade in milk glasses (old frap bottles)

I printed out the babies name and the invite and put them in frames I already had. Cheap and easy!
Loved this, I found the crate at Ross for $7! Perfect! The burlap runner I got from hobby lobby as well as the burlap banner. So cute and simple. Plus I can add ribbon for any "theme" that can be easily changed.

Ladies Christmas Tea

Every year our church has a ladies Christmas tea. Somehow, this was the 1st year I have ever hosted a table. I wanted to do something rustic/pretty/classic. So I went with burlap, mason jars, evergreen, cranberries, log rounds, a lantern and deer antlers.
Close up of the place setting, I used little chalkboards as the place cards. And tied the silverware and napkins with twine, a cinnamon stick and evergreen. Perfect!

I love the way it all came together and I like the way my Christmas dishes sort of dressed it up a bit.

Neat Finds!

Yard sale find....

Really cool milk glass nesting bowls for $2!

A church down the road from me was selling these stools. So cool. I got 2 wood ones and 4 metal square tips for $20!! It's my find of the week!

Hello There!

Thrift store shopping (a quick trip because it is so cold here today!)
I found this cute little set (5 small plates and creamer)
I also got these $2 for the box, I figured I would use them in a hurricane or lantern to decorate for Christmas!!!

On another note, I was in a store the other day and saw this.
I love fresh greenery, especially for Christmas and especially magnolia. How simple (and basically FREE) is this swag?

Speaking of "fresh". I had a man cut me some log rounds to use as chargers in my dining room this year.
He charged me only $20 for 12! Can't beat that right?? The ones at hobby lobby were $15 a piece!
I made these the other day (chalkboards). I think I'm going to use them on my tree. They cost me hardly anything to make but chalk paint takes many coats!! Ugh. Oh well. I'm happy with the outcome.

We are getting a real tree this year and doing a lot more of a rustic/ natural feel. I can't wait!!!
