Catching Up

It has been crazy busy in the life of Sophia lately. And I need to catch up so here we go....

First of all I wanted to give a shout out to Rachele who I ran into today at lunch! She totally made my day when she told me she read my blog! THANK YOU.... THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

I was in Life Way the other day and came across these super cute signs....

Craft night maybe??

Also, I have been on the hunt for a new bathroom rug and I spotted this one at Ross for $13.

I like it on the white floor with the white cabinet... what do you think?

Last Friday, we had a girls day and went to Atl to the Country Living Fair.

It was so much fun! There were so many vender's, food and COTTON CANDY....We even saw Cari from Cash and Cari! There were so many neat things to see and get ideas from. If you've never been, you should definitely go next year... plus it was the perfect day for it. I even wore shorts that day!

I saw these sheepskins and loved them, I had one which was my special blankie when I was little, I carried it everywhere and called it my naugies! ha... how cute is that?

This is the only thing I came home with... I thought it was so stinkin cute. Maybe a baby gift for one of my million friends having a baby??

Saturday I helped my SIL through a wedding shower for her soon to be SIL. It was freezing!!!! But it was perfect for the party since she had hay bales around fire pits, chili, apple pies and s'mores. And we had lanterns and hung mason jars from the trees! Pictures soon!!

Hope Y'all are having a GREAT week!
Happy Halloween!

How cool is this picture? Guarding the tomb of the unknown solider despite the terrible storms...
Praying for all the Hurricane Sandy victims!

Election Time!

This past weekend I had a yard sale, but it was only mildly successful, I only made about $40. But it was still a lot of fun even if I had to get up at 6am!!!

My 11th grade girls came over and we carved/painted pumpkins. I went with painting pumpkins since I was not up for getting down and dirty. I think they turned out pretty cute, don't you?

And Caleb's cousin had a baby girl... Maggie Lou. She is so precious! They didn't find out the gender until the was born so it was a big surprise especially because everyone thought it was a boy (they have a of of boys in that family!!)

Election time is here and... this lady voted yesterday!

Do your part.... GO VOTE!!!

Tuesday Shopping Day

I was shopping with my SIL and we kept looking at Christmas stuff and she kept saying that she wasn't ready for that yet. Of course, all of you know that I AM!  HA...
And then I saw this friendly reminder! Get ready people... it'll be here before you know it!

So, I decided to buy some Christmas stuff!

cute Christmas towel from Trees and Trends

Christmas sign from Marshall's

Christmas flag from Trees and Trends

And I also managed to go to a few Thrift Stores.

blue mason jar and cute tissue paper both for $.40

And a 31 insulated tote for $.40... SCORE!

I also got 2 of these tea cups for $1 each to put in my canisters on my kitchen counters.

Then I spotted this fun bubble glass lamp at TJ Maxx originally $50 on clearance for $20. Not too shabby eh?

Happy Fall! Here is a quick tour of all my fall decor....

my chalkboard sign!

Fall is definitely in the air and I am loving it!

Kitchen Island

Well Folks, I have a kitchen island.... here is the before picture.

I loved it but it was a little too green and since nothing I have in my house is green I opted to paint it and seal the top with a couple coats of poly.

Here she is in the kitchen all finished!

The white/distressed finish matches my house so much better and doesn't make it look as heavy... what do you think?

Productive Wednesday

Remember this post?

Well... I was not really loving my letter I did so I decided to cover it with moss, that way I could change out the ribbon and such and use it on my front door!
Much better!!

I ordered these, reasonably prices, Pottery Barn guest towels and they came the other day with FREE SHIPPING! ( I was hoping the monogram would have been a little larger but either way.... I like them). I am loving the blue color!

And Today I also got my new necklace, also FREE SHIPPING! (Facebook offer) From Modern Ego!!! whoop! Cant wait to wear it!

And I spray painted my wooden monogram and hung it on my fall burlap wreath... LOVING IT!

PLUS....The Mr. and I also primed and sealed our new island.... (yes I kept it, but I wasn't digging the color)
Pictures to come soon!

Now off to watch the Presidential Debate
