I Heat Blue Glass

I think that I am going to have to open up my own booth one day so I can get rid of all the "stuff" I come with, I just cant help myself.
I love the color and the crackle on these telephone insulators. $2 each.

Blue mason jar with a lid $8

And I got some Jute for $1.

I am still working on my bookshelves, my guest room and bathroom so hopefully I can use these finds in one of those places. Pictures to come soon, I hope!

I was in High school and when we were told what had happened on 9-11-01, I will never forget the feeling in my stomach and the pictures we saw on the TV.

I just love this picture, what an incredible reminder!

Change is a Good Thing

Here is my new and improved kitchen corner....
This picture is not so great but it looks good in person, I really like it! All the white with a little punch of color and life. This corner has not changed since we moved a year ago. Ahh... Sometimes change can be so refreshing.

And here is my new wreath fall wreath attempt #1....

Isn't it adorable? And, guess what it is made of? Coffee filters, talk about cheap! I like it but I think I am gonna try to make the fabric rosettes and see how they look. I think they are so cute and look pretty easy to make out of fabric scraps!

Now, I am just trying to decide when I want to put out my fall decorations... I am already using my fall candles... I don't think it will be long, I cant wait to get a pumpkin(or a few) for my front porch!

Is Fall Here?

So apparently the day before yesterday was summer and yesterday fall decided to make its arrival. But not necessarily the way I expected,  the weather was terrible, we had more rain in one day then ever in the history of our town. It was crazy, there was flooding, road closures and power outages everywhere. I even got to leave work early! I came home and snuggled on the couch and watched a movie and decided to kick off fall with Chicken Chili and my new fall scented candles. The whole house smelled like fall, it was delightful!

This is the recipe for delicious chicken chili. Buy this box at the store and follow the directions on the box. Instead of water use chicken stock and also add
1 can Rotel
1 can Black Beans
1 can White Beans
1 small chopped onion
Its so simple and very good especially on a cold rainy day!

I have to share a  secret with you. I have tried a lot of candles. I really love Aromatique, but they are a little pricey! I am not really a fan of Wal Mart and do not go that often, however, they have great CHEAP candles. They smell up the whole house. My favorite smells are Mulled Cider for fall and winter and Fresh Cotton for spring and summer. You have to try them.

I keep meaning to share (sorry for the bad picture), I found a spot for my new find.
I put it in the powder bathroom on the floor in front of the sink and put some hand towels in it. I may buy some larger towels and roll them up and put them in there, or maybe a magazine? (It looks better in person... ha)

I did venture out in the cold, rainy weather today. (The high was only 65... wow!) For some reason, I have been wanting to go to Pier 1 lately so my Mom and I went and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised.  They have a lot of stuff that is not really my taste.... but, they had a lot of neat things and the prices were really not that bad.
I got this lil guy for $8. I have been looking for one and I really liked it, so he came home with me.

I also really loved these chairs from there.

Warning: These next 2 pictures are from my phone so they're not great! HA

These fun lanterns were on clearance for $10. Originally $40, I really liked them but didn't buy them

I loved this detail on the lamp. I am thinking I am going to make a fall wreath and this is my inspiration. Oh yea, I can see it! HA!

I also went to a few other places including Target. I got a whole lot of stuff on clearence. I am telling you, when they put merchandise on clearence, they do it right. I love me some Target sales.

I did pick up some of this goodness....its pretty tasty... however not as tasty as my new obsession

ahhh... yes.... Fresca. I havent tried the second 2 flavors, I can never find them but I really want to, I have heard they are so yummy. I have everyone in my office hooked on this stuff. Its so light and citrus-y and NO CALORIES! My kinda drink.

Its Football Time in Tennessee

It seems football is the hot topic this weekend, everyones Facebook status had something to do with football. Football, to me is the kick-off to fall. I am so excited and can't wait to go to a game this year. We both love us some TN football, both college and professional, although for some reason I prefer college and the Mr. prefers professional... go figure, we can never decide which games to go to...

How cute is this game-day look? LOVE it!

Its officially chips and dips season, yummy....

We enjoyed a nice night at the ball field this past friday. It was such a perfect night and we won, plus it was fireworks night (Bonus!!)

lots of fun!

We also ate at a really neat restaurant that overlooks downtown, Nikkis.

Back in the day it was a drive-thru. Dont you love the old cars

It pretty much looks the same and they still serve Cokes in a bottle, ahhh I love it!

Happy Labor Day Weekend... bye bye summer. Hello fall!

Things will be Great When You're Downtown!

Have I mentioned that I adore Photography? Dang it, why does everyone and their Mother want to take pictures these days?

I went downtown the other day to take my Brothers senior pictures... (wow... I can't believe that he is a senior) we had a great time.... little Bub was such a good sport, bless his lil heart!
Just wonderful, is it not? Perfect summer sunset.

Beautiful... picture perfect!

I fell in love with this clock... isn't it so neat? I love the Art District and all the little Restaurants and Coffee shops.

Hopefully I can get a few pictures of him edited soon to share.... they turned out pretty well.
