Shower Time

The past few days have been very busy, hints the fact I have not posted in a while.
Saturday, I decided to have a yard sale, which was pretty successful. Made $175 plus I sold a dresser a few days before on CL that I bought for $50 and wanted to "fix" it up... well I never got around to it so I sold it for $75... so that is pretty successful I would say...

Sunday a friend of mine and myself hosted a wedding shower for a dear friend of ours. Both girls go to church with me and I met them when we joined a small group over a year ago. We have changed groups since then, but I still get together with them all the time and we have become great friends!
We had planned to have the shower outside, but at 3 in the afternoon in the summer heat, it just was not going to happen... either way, we made it work and it was lovely!
We used chalkboards, mason jars and lanterns, and the colors we used were navy and yellow.

I LOVED the sunflowers in the mason jar.

so sweet and southern.

These mason jar dispensers are from World Market, plus the "chalkboards" are just chalk painted pieces of cardboard.

POUR milk into large bowl. Add dry pudding mixes. Beat with wire whisk 1 minute. Add lemonade concentrate; beat an additional minute or until well blended. (Mixture will be thick.) Gently stir in whipped topping.
SPOON into crust.
REFRIGERATE 4 hours or until set. Store leftover pie in refrigerator.

Here is part of the food table.

Another chalkboard at the front door.

Lantern center pieces with the navy/floral runners

Everyone drank out of mason jars and I tied twine around the forks and napkins. This is one of my favorites!

Lanterns scattered on the counters and tables.

This was the invitation which we put in a frame. Isn't the invite adorable?

Another cheesy shower saying.... on the mantle with some more sunflowers.

And here is the Bride-to-be opening her wedding gifts. Her wedding is less then a month away!

The shower was great and she got a lot of really nice things. I am so excited for her!
