Beautiful Weekend

We had my family over for dinner on Thursday to celebrate my Dads 57th Birthday. I didn't take any pictures but we had a great time and good food, I love to have people over and entertain!

We grilled hot dogs and hamburgers and had baked beans, chips, fruit and I made peach cobbler, and Kellys Coconut Cake. It was super yummy!!

I had a mini spray paint party and spray pained my new plate stand black as well as

my (used to be) green lantern. Isn't he cute?

My little brother (Bub) left for boot camp on Sunday morning. He will be gone for at least 13 weeks.... sad!! He was so sweet to take my mom, my sister and me out for dinner the night before.
We went to PF Changs and ate outside, it was a beautiful !

He took me for my first ride in his BIG truck, I sure am gonna miss this crazy kid all summer....
And before he left on Sunday he wanted to have biscuits and gravy from Hardees, so we all had breakfast before he left.

This is how I like to spend my summer off days... pool side with a big Happy Hour diet, cherry, vanilla coke... pure happiness!!

The Riverbend festival kicked off this past weekend and ends Saturday. It is always kind of the kick off for summer here.
So far we have seen Eric Church and Foreigner. Chris Tomlin comes tomorrow night and some more bands later this week are The Band Perry, Goo Goo Dolls and Lauren Alaina for fireworks night on Saturday.

Here we are sitting next to the river listening to Eric Church

And here is our view of the stage and the gorgeous summer sunset!

We went to a pool party on Saturday with some of our small group after the wedding.  They had a beautiful hydrangea bush with BIG colorful blooms and he told me I could take some home with me. Look at these things.....

Amazing... they are my favorite. Look at those colors! I couldn't stop taking pictures of them.

I put one on my nightstand.

Because, who has a bad morning when you wake up next to this?

Just picture perfect!

And I put one in my kitchen window
Nothing like a mason jar with Hydrangeas.

These are from my moms yard, she brought them to us when we were telling my little Bub goodbye, isn't that sweet! Now I have 3 flower arrangements in the house.
I put them in a mason jar as well on my coffee table in the living room.
Don't you love that blue?

Hope you had a beautiful weekend!

  1. First of all, I LOVE your blog! My name is Deborah and I happened accross it through pinterest. Second of all, I need ideas! I'm not sure what to give as hostess gifts for my baby shower. I need about 10, so it can't be very pricey, but I want to do something besides just candles. Don't know if you or your readers may have suggestions? Thx

  2. Aw, Thank you so much for reading and for leaving a comment! I really appreciate it! Wow, 10 hostess gifts is a lot! I would recommend either going to Michaels and checking out the $1 section, they alawys have cute monogram things, notes and tissues, stamps etc.... you can also do something with the vinyl from Hobby Lobby. Or you could make jam or a homemade sugar scrub or soap with a tea towel. Good luck with it!!
